Mia states that ‘she was born with a packed suitcase.’ Having grown up in the travel industry, it’s no surprise that at just 16 years of age, she organized and led her first tour, and she has never stopped. Since then, she has guided tours for top domestic and international tour operators in thirty-seven countries on five continents, by land, sea, and rail. She believes that travel is not about ticking off the boxes but instead savoring the unique aspects of each country and region visited. Connecting with locals provides one with the perspective to better understand the people, food, culture, customs, and history. Recently, while in Spain, Mia earned her “Compostela” by completing the historic Camino de Santiago.

Carlos is a certified International Travel and Tour Director. Before founding Savoring Spain with Mia, he worked as a guide for a well-known US-based tour operator in Spain and Portugal for many years. He has facilitated multilingual international business meetings and conventions for Fortune 500 companies in North America, South America, Europe, Singapore, and Indonesia. Carlos has designed, planned, and led educational exchanges and leisure tours in the US, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Cuba, Peru, Iberia, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and France. He and his family have just returned to the US after spending two years in Spain.
